Another interesting note on EVO the MiFi requires an additional charge, I believe its 30 but will control 8 devices. I would bet with 8 device your battery life is about 30 minutes.

EVO is the best phone available as we speak regardless of carrier and/or technology. There a few on the horizon, X10 Galaxy S and an LG. all android. I am using the X10 now and its is an amazing device. The only differences are the MiFi and the S10 is a 4 inch screen while the Evo is 4.3

I know it just had its official release but is there any news on when it'll get an improved battery?

Unless there's a drastic issue or bug causing the short battery life, it's going to be a while. Froyo addressed processing performance issues more than battery performance, and who knows when the EVO is getting 2.2. It takes longer to implement OS updates on phones such as the EVO that have Sense UI.

The biggest gripe with smartphones is the battery life. It started for me in 2007 when I purchased the iPhone. For you new smartphone users, get used to it! Make changes accordingly when considering battery life. Fortunately for everyone who is NOT using an iPhone, you can purchase extra batteries. You should also adjust brightness, email push, wifi, and general app settings. Install a task manager and learn how to use it.


SBU: is the X10 running 2.0 or 2.1? How's the battery life?

Posting from my new evo. It's sick! Went to the sprint store in Orange at noon yesterday and got the third to last unit. They had 60.

currently using 1.6 with Timescape and Mediascape overlays, both are SE additions to Android. Battery has been as issue yet I am getting a full day of light use, 40 mnutes talk, 15 emails, 15-20 minutes of internet and a little Pandora. Under my normal heavy use I don't think I will get a full day but close.
X10 will get upgrade to 2.1 before US release I have read

I gotta say that I am quite impressed with this phone.
Only downloaded a couple apps so far like Google Goggles and some task manager chingaderra...

Was showing Googles to a couple teammates after our game last night, took some photos of the beers we were drinking. Pretty impressive how it recognized everything.

Now all I need is an invitation to Google Voice...

Jeffrock, are you a student by any chance? Google is passing out Voice invites to college students.

I read some reviews that say the keyboard is too cluttered. Does anyone in this thread share that opinion?
