For a touch keyboard its pretty easy to use. I'm coming from a qwerty bb which was extremely easy to use. It's been a smoother transition than I thought.
The battery held up well yesterday too. I was playing with it all day and still had a quarter charge when I went to sleep. I heard the battery was awful so that was a nice surprise. Im using atk to manage tasks which probably had something to do with it.

I did a mock sign up for a new Sprint account and the monthly total is $69 plus a $10 premium plan. What's with the $10 plan, current customers? Fill a brother in.
Not a student at the moment, but gracias for the info.
It's a bogus $10 premium phone fee. They are saying that because you will be using much more data than on a 3g network, it covers the costs they incur. It's charged to people who have an EVO, regardless of if 4g is even available in your area.
My plan works for me, even with an additional $10 tacked on, but it's weak that they are charging people who don't even have access to 4g yet.
With regards to the keyboard. I have big fingers and it works great for me. The only problems I have had is from that autocorrect function that I will be turning off shortly.
My only other access to that type of keyboard is on my ipod touch. I think it looks a little better on the ipod, but it feels fine on the EVO.
Is 4G universally faster or is it the service? For instance would Verizon 3G be faster than ATT 4G if they have more towers and better bandwidth?
4g is way faster than 3g. Sprint is currently on wimax while Verizon will be using LTE once their 4g network is rolled out. The 10 fee doesn't bother me as my plan is still way cheaper than 3G with another provider.

I played with this phone at Sprint today and I have to say I came away impressed. The screen is HUGE ! The whole battery thing sucks but it is a beautiful phone. It feels solid/well built. Too bad I am stuck on my SERO plan. 1200 anytime for $50. Too nice to give up.
Wow, when is Verizon rolling out 3G?
