Default I need a new printer

First, let me start by saying I am the sig alert on the information highway and I have little computer skills.
    Tec gobblety gook baffles me.

Yeah, I'm old, dragging 60 and didn't get my first computer until about 5 yrs ago.

I have a few criteria, as follows
    Idiot friendly
easy to use with out fighting everything on this machine. (which isn't all that much)
I bought a digital camera recently, not high end, but, it seems to be easy to use.
it would be nice if the printer could deal with photos, color printing of text sheets, faxes and scanning/copying.
Money/cheap is not at the top of the list, but, idiot friendly is.
I've been eye balling one of the new kodak thingys for a month or so now, but, a good friend said it would not be a good choice, and maybe, putting the question up to you folks would steer me in a good direction.
So, can you help a brother out with suggestions.
(I have a 4 yr old dell pc)

    Thanks

I realize, that stuff that does a little of everything, rarely does anything really well, so, without baffling me, or making me have to build a new addition to my home, suggestions for multi units to give me what I need would be helpfull . Thanks.

If you are looking for an all-in-one printer you can never go wrong with HP.

Here is a link to HP's Photosmart printers including All-in-One's

Not a fan at all of HP's low end All In Ones. For low end printers, right now I really like the Epson Workforce 310 or 600 All In One.

This is just for home use, correct? I would go with the Epson Workforce 600. It has a ton of features, and is reasonably priced at roughly $199.

I use an HP 8180 (although it has features that I NEVER use), which is connected wirelessly, and works great. It has card readers to read pics directly, a good sized screen, and prints good looking pictures. It prints ugly pictures too, but they all come out in great quality. I've had it for about a year, and have had no problems with it at all.

To be fair though, it is not my main printer. I use a laser printer for all the heavy duty printing. The HP AIO is used mostly to make copies of documents for school, or to print out sheets in color when I feel I need a color scheme on my sheets. I printed out pictures with all the sample paper they gave me, but I haven't printed pictures since then. I cannot vouch for how well the printer will work under a heavy load, since I don't use it that way.

Jo, the reason I need a new printer is that I can get parts for the one I have like yours. The company I bought it from went out of business. How do you keep yours up and running so well.
