If you're looking for quality, this is the tv to buy. I know the MSRP says it's 3500 but i've done some research and have found it on-line for 2700 no tax and free shipping. It's expensive but definatley worth it. This is going to be my x-mas present to myself this year.
Nice choice! I have seen plenty of these in test and in action. You will be very pleased with it
If you really want something in this life, you have to work for it. Now, quiet! The're about to announce the lottery numbers...

I'm running this TV in my bedroom. Samsung LNS3296D. It hit the market last July for $2k and I got it in August for only $1300. You can find them now for only $1k. It sports 6000:1 contrast ratio. At the time that was the best in 32" 720p sets. Side by side it kicked the crap out of the Sony Bravia and was stickered $600 less.

so I go to resurrect this thread, which I thought should be stickied...

I just bought a Sony Bravia KDL-32S3000 set. I have yet to set it up, but I'm sure that after having gone to a few stores to look at several different TVs and their prices, this one should make me proud.

heck, after years of having crappy analog TV boxes, this will be a uber-ultra-major upgrade.

    cheers!
I BELIEVE I'll have another beer!

you dare speak ill of my black queen? Bastage!

I don't know why you'd be unimpressed. The sharpness and clarity on this tv is amazing and the colors are off the chart. It works great as a pc monitor too. DIVX videos look great on it too.

I just bought this one last week :

    http://www.amazon.com/Sony-KDL-46V25...2178708&sr=8-2

    Sony KDL-46V2500 46" Bravia V-Series 1080p LCD HDTV

(chose amazon cause they had a decent sale price, free shipping, and no tax (not to mention we had several hundred dollars in gift certificates from our wedding a few months ago!).

All I have to say is "daaaamn"

The picture quality is great, even on "standard definition" (which seems to be a constant complain of many other brands from consumer reviews). It looked great right out of the box and all i had to do was change the preset from "vivid" colors to "standard" to get the color and the picture flawless.

Next problem to tackle is getting technology to catch up to my television. My local cable company doesn't offer HD programming yet. I signed up with Direct TV. Of course, the sales person told me that they have 1080p programming, but the receiver they sent me only supports 1080i. I called to complain and they told me that 1080p receivers aren't being made yetdoh1:. My xbox360 connects at 1080i as well. It looks frakkin great but I would love to see what this baby can do in full HD. Still need to do some reading on how to connect it so I can get 1080p. I'm shopping HD DVD/Blu-Ray players now. It appears from my brief research so far that Blu-Ray > HD DVD. any opinions?

You are supposed to pay CA state taxes, called a use tax on internet purchases, including amazon.

It is not a new law. It has been on the books since the 1930s.

    Hence we are all lawbreakers!

Check out most of the information they provide. You can make the decision on your own. I personally will end up with both, right now I have Blu-Ray. And I friggin' love it. There are some titles that are exclusive each way of course. It all depends what on that list you want to watch.
