Thread: iPad...AT&T vs Verizon

If you were to buy one, which would you buy? why? I hear AT&T service sucks and then I hear Verizon you have to have the mifi card... I like to get one but would like your opinions. Thanxs.

What are you going to use it for?
For me it would be a toy, so I'd get it from Apple and use free wi-fi.

THIS PLUS you can always tether it to your smartphone and run the interwebs off that

Just bought my mom one last week (before the announcement from Verizon). Although I'm not a big AT&T fan, I like that you don't need the mifi. And, I hear you that for $5 more, AT&T gives you 2 GB versus Verizon's 1 GB. Seems like the one upside to Verizon is if you're traveling and you also want to run your laptop off the mifi. Of course, the reason I bought my mom the iPad was so she didn't have to lug her laptop on a trip.

I'm trying to hold out for the new version next spring.

I might get the next gen one for my mom if it has a front camera for face-time. She doesn't have the best eyesight so she has to look pretty close to her iphone 4g when she uses it.
I don't have any portable Apple products myself but the itouch finally has enough gigs for me to consider one.
