A 3g iPhone will come out in less than 60 days.
Sorry, SE X1. WM6 just f'n blows. :(
KT its the new 6.1 not the older slower 6.0
That's right. Sorry about that.
6.1 looks great in action, and the main screen looks good too, but the X1 won't do well in NA as much as a 3g iPhone. Too many users will buy it because of its trendy status.
Where does SE rank in the NA market, SBU? Moto phones are POS, and Nokia's N series is stellar, and SE needs improved penetration here in the states. We need more than those gimp music phones.
KT when you look at the NA market you haave to segment it down even further. SE doesn't and will never make any CDMA handsets. How can we compare #s in a segment we can't even comptete in ? Nokia, Moto and Lg make both CDMA and GSM for the US. If you eliminate CDMA(VZW) we are about 11% of the US GSM market and that with only ONE handset thats carrier branded. Our is to become a bigger player in the US markets thats why you will only see 3G products for ATT and possibly T Mobile. Thats also why we added window Mobile to the mix. We will not get rid of Symbian but add another, higher end platform, WM6.1. We will have 5-7 US handsets and a 3G USB aircard by years end. ranging from entry level, releasing next week the Z 750 on up to the X-1 late in the year.
As a company we understand that we need the US but keep in mind we are a much bigger player in Europe and are the makers of the phone of the year. the W960.
The iPhones decent phone and none of the "Iphone killers" have been up to the task yet . There a few gunning hard for them. Part of the reason I hate is the control they have over ATT and how they are making ATT screw their customers. I guess as long as consumers put up with it, why should they stop?
I'm fully aware of the Euro / Asian markets that have handsets 20x better than what we have here, including the iPhone. That's why I often purchased unlocked phones from these markets until I settled on the iPhone. I just wished SE had a bigger presence here as it does elsewhere because their lineup is better than Moto and comparable to Nokia's.
ATT does a great job screwing customers as is, so I'm curious by your statement that Apple is just as guilty as ATT when it comes to screwing customers.
How are they screwing their customers?less than 45 days ago if you had a non Iphone that you were using for work or whatever reason you could switch you sim from phone to iPhone w/o any issues. they recently blocked that from happening. When you switch sims now you lose any access to MMS and internet. You're paying the same 20 a month for unlimited access BUT if you're on an iPhone plan you lose that option now.ATT does a great job screwing customers as is, so I'm curious by your statement that Apple is just as guilty as ATT when it comes to screwing customers.
IPhone also has unreasonable influence over what other high end phone ATT will carry, they have been rumored to have pressure ATT to nix the k850 and Nokia N95. The n95 is now back for a second look as we speak.
iPhone has also disallowed ATT agents, Best Buy, mom and pops, Radio Shack etc from selling Iphone to keep control of the pricing. Good for iPhone bad for the consumer
Don't get me wrong I think SIM based service is the way to go I just don't think ATT should have given in to Iphones requirements and continue to be under their thumb. Not to mention iPhone also get a cut of the monthly bill that iPhones pay, no other carrier get anything on the back end from any carrier.
Anyone else reading that wants to buy an iPhone PM or call me I'll tell you how to best maximize your purchase and soften the financial blow.
