And as far as them being "rumored" to pressure AT&T to not release other phones... Who cares, I have an iPhone so they arent screwing me over.

The people bitching about the price of the iPhones is another thing I dont get. You can pay $400 for the most advanced phone on the planet and UNLIMITED data only cost $20 or I can buy a Blackberry 8820 for $299.99 after a $50 rebate but I have to pay nearly $50 amonth for unlimited data. So in about 3-4 months my iPhone has made up the difference.

heres where you're getting screwed as an IPhone customer is they have complete control on pricing. So if I as an agent wanted to sell you the iPhone for 100 less than ATT I can't. Iphone won't allow ATT to let sell the iPhone.
ALSO 45 days ago you could have a non iPhone ATT handset that you used when you were in school. NO problem you take the SIM out put it in your "school" phone and you were onm your way. NOW your "school" will ot work with the data paln from the iPhone. this is a recent change. Some have found a way around it but your average consumer will not and should not go in an "mod" their phones.

hmmm...and here I was thinking of iphone vs. blackberry very soon...

I just bought an iPhone for my Mom from AT&T for $250 (refurbed) and can get a refurbed all day long from Apple at $350. Like I said, I dont care if the device is more then others because its better for what I need and I save $25-$30 a month in data fees that I would pay with similar devices. Apple may dictate what I have to pay for the iPhone but they also helped lower my monthly fees by more then half so in no way am I getting "screwed". Im actaully saving money ever month now then if I would of bought a BB.

As far as using another phone... I had a old AT&T phone that I had intentions of using when I went to the beach or river so I didnt jack my iPhone up. I have yet to try and use it except for the first month just to make sure it worked. I guess you are saying that if I tried that now it wouldnt work, right? If so, its not that big a deal since I have had my iPhone since day one and have never thought about using the other phone simply because I wouldnt want to be without my iPhone for a day.

My suggestion... if email if your primary function and you want the best device for that get a BB hands down. When I was working my coporate 8-5 job nothing beat a BB and their email service.

If you want/need a device that has a MUCH better operating system, better screen, AWESOME internet surfing, and tons of other cool crap get an iPhone. Well, wait until June to see if there is going to be a new one... then get an iPhone.

Especially once the SDK apps get rolling. :dancingyx:

MacWorld is less than a month away. Get those iPhones prepped to sell on eBay, folks.


The 3g iPhone will be here soon. Goodbye RIM Bold, SE X1, etc.

It looks like they are no longer stocking the iPhone in the online stores.

Let's not lose perspective here. The iPhone's email system has as much a chance of taking down Blackberry as Blackberry's MP3 capability has in taking down the iPhone.

from what i've seen the new 3g iphone will also be sold at the apple store for the full price and @ an ATT store discounted when you agree to a new 2 year contract.zI just want the damn thing to have flash built into it.

The few I mentioned are touted as iPhone killers. The BB 9000 will definitely boost RIM in the long run, as well as their touchscreen BB coming out in early '09. No one can touch their email capabilities.

However, with the high interest of the SDK coming out in June, coupled with the fact that Apple may consider its own email server (like RIM) if business customer sales improve. Only time will tell.
