Eh, after reading some more on this, all I can is a big '**** you' to at&t. The phone HAS to be activated at either an Apple or AT&T store, $30 3G data plan on top of a $40 voice plan (doesn't include SMS), and what happens to people who don't live in a 3G market? I hope I can purchase the phone and stick to the old plan I have now.

I love the infrastructure and endless possibilities on Apple's end (mobileme, app store, etc.), but **** at&t for screwing the consumer in this regard.

Same here! I unlocked my phone and sold it for $350 (after fees).

    Sell them ASAP.

I dont understand why people are so pissed about the data plan price, it is inline with other PDA's and BB's.

That may be true, but it's more bickering than anything else. I compare it to data plans of other carriers, and it sickens me.

I better find the tent. It's going to be a mess come 7/11.

part of the price reduction is the ARPU that ATT guarantees themself with the data plan and two year contract. As you know better than most you can buy and an unlocked International phone that works better with more feature BUT you'll pay 3X the price. Its all a trade off.

It really has caused a buzz in the biz on the manufacturer side of things, LG, Nokia, SE and HTC are all scratching their heads asking WHY sell it so cheap when you can get close to twice as much. The pricing will certainly change things for all the newer high end phones coming out, Diamond, Bold X1 ect....

I saw it on the news last night. It's faster, has GPS and is half the old price of the old one. I think they said July 11th was the date, (Fixed the date after reading below)

    It's thinner too.
