Go, I read in several places that people who upgraded to 2.0 on the iPhone 1 today ALSO had ibricks thanks to the phone DEACTIVATING when connected to itunes. I doubt that is widespread, but I did read it more than once.
I bricked my first gen iPhone this morning when I tried to restore my jailbroken phone to factory so I could do the 2.0 upgrade. I wasn't able to get it back until about 20 minutes ago.

Fortunately for me, it's just a phone and I was somehow able to survive without it for a few hours.

Could you imagine the flow of hate that would occur if Microsoft released a phone with as many problems as the iPhone? Jetta driving cult members everywhere would be in a frenzy.

Oh misguided consumer electronic snobs with apples stickers crookedly (to demonstrate creativity) placed on your rear windshield, you're something else.

    Good luck with the phone.

Well that was unbelievable. I drove by Pasadena first because it was outdoors and I could see the line wrapping around the store from my car. Probably 60-70 deep at 4PM. Pass.

So I head over to the Glendale Galleria... imagine how stunned I was when I pulled in to the parking garage and realized the line of people IN THE GARAGE was for the iPhone. If any of you have been to the Glendale mall before you know that the Apple store is well within the mall and really isn't anywhere close to the parking garage.

I went in anyway to pick up some other things and I asked folks about 30-35 back in the line how long they'd been there. 8 hours was the response. I laughed and left. The line was 200 deep at 4:30PM.

That's nuts to wait that long for something there is no shortage of. Next week by this time there will be plenty. I figure the lines will be fine even by Monday. I might head over to Manhattan Beach in the morning. I can search out store availability on apple.com tonight.

    Crazy!

I upgraded to 2.0 on thursday, and added a few apps.

Maps works much better, even though I am on a 1.0 iPhone, as does push email using my sbcglobal account. The calculator is cool, but that's all it is. I mean, it's a calculator!

I downloaded the mlb program, which is actually very cool, and works faster than trying to load a webpage to see all the scores.

cromag rally is a cool accelerometer game, but kinda expensive, and it really burns the battery.

I bought guitar tool, which turns my phone into a guitar tuner/chord library/metronome. Pretty handy for me.

Remote works awesome to control itunes on my computer. Unfortunately, it can't maximize itunes on my computer, or even bring it to the front. You have to get it all set up, then sit back and control it with your phone. Pretty nifty.

I can't stop playing with this phone now, and I am only on the edge network. I won't be getting a 3G phone anytime soon, as this update really made a phone that i already liked even better.

AOL Radio is a great app! I'm digging that and the eBay app as well.

Glendale was just as bad last year, though people were flying in/out of the store because activation wasn't required as it is this year.

For those that don't have it, check out Apple.com. There is an availability page that shows in/out of stock inventory for each store.

Just say NO to white sunglasses and phones, men.

Awesome.. here's the cheat sheet.Looks like getting one tomorrow won't be a problem. Just go to the "least popular" store that has green dots.

If I was upgrade eligible, I would have one in my hands. I am not going to pay $500 for the 16GB iPhone.
