Thread: iPhone 3G

I caved in and did the update to 2.0 last night. It went flawlessly. 20 minutes and I was up and running. I am still searching through all the menus to see whats changed. I also downloaded a few free apps to see what the fuss is about. They are actually pretty cool, but are a MAJOR battery killer. At least the ones I was messing with. Overall, I am impressed with this update.

I'm now the proud owner of a black 16GB iPhone 3G. I would strongly recommend that you head on over to Century City. By now they should be completely through the line of people. There were only about 60 or so waiting when I left at 2:30PM and they were taking groups in 10 at a time every 10-15 minutes or so. Lots of inventory of all models.

I wound up waiting a little over 5 hours, but they use a numbering system so you could get a number and then head off to shop - the wait won't be anywhere near that long now - maybe 1-2 hours tops. I got there in the morning, did some shopping, had lunch, got my phone and headed out.

They open at 10AM tomorrow IIRC, but you should wait and go in the afternoon. There's plenty of stock and the line will be shorter after the morning backlog clears out.

Yeah, SCP shut down their line at 6 as advertised and the wait was still 2.5 hours.

Brea is expecting a pretty significant wait all through tomorrow too, their mall doesnt open until 11 but they will allow people to get in line around 6. I may do that and take a couple of books that I have to read for school. Im willing to bet Im more productive in line than I would be at home with wife and dogs and all the other distractions.

Dont be silly. You know it can't do that. It runs one at a time to conserve battery life.

Heh, don't get me wrong, I will be getting one. I'm just not going to stand in a crazy line to do it.

2.0 is good but I do agree that they kill battery. So far my favorites are AOL Radio and some of the free language apps as well a Sports Tap and Shazam.

I will wait til they come out with something like this for Verizon. I am not keen on AT&T so oh well screw it I guess

With BB going to VRZN exclusively, your best bet is the BB touchscreen. Unfortunately, it's at least a year away.
