    why would you buy a 3G iPhone? curious of the reasons other than 3G its no different than the original iPhone. Can't they even fix the MMS settings? Why pay 10 a month extra just to ownan iPhone

    -want a touchscreen ipod. (i have a crappy verizon phone now. i never had the original iphone)
    -3g is a welcomed improvement
    -gps (i probably won't use it, but what the hell, i want it anyways)

    I'm not 'upgrading' from my GEN1 iPhone. There just isn't enough incentive. 3G is reported to be a battery killer and the GPS antenna is too small to do useful things like turn-by-turn directions. Not to mention the $10 more a month.

    The only real 'breakthrough' is going to be the 2.0 software, which I get anyway and am patiently waiting for. The new version of iTunes is available now so thats loaded and ready to go. I think I am going to wait until Monday before I load 2.0 'cuz I sure would hate for my phone to be 'bricked' for the weekend. I refuse to be the typical 'they never crash', head-in-the sand Apple fanboy. Electronics and software fail regardless of who's logo is on the front.

    This is why I'm hitting up my local AT&T store tomorrow morning around 10:30 or so.
