    Default iPOD question

Ok so my wife has an older iPOD. Our old computer crashed and she has all of our music on there and the iPOD. We were trying to figure out how to get the music off of her iPOD onto our new computer. We have not DLed iTunes yet or anything. I read something that said I needed to hook the iPOD up to the old computer and switch it to manual update and make a file for it and everything in the iPOD. Is this the only way? or are we screwed to never be able to update this iPOD without loosing the music thats on it?

it should have no problem with it. I used it with my 5th gen iPod video and it works. It's a bit slow but it gets the job done.

Here is the link for it. : http://www.softpedia.com/get/IPOD-TO...ls/iDump.shtml

If i use idump on my brothers computer and put my ipods songs into his comp, can he then add them to his ipod? i guess the easier question is How can you share ipod libraries?

yes. iDump will merely extract the files from the iPod and place them in a location you specify. Once they are there you will need to install iTunes, add the files to the library and then you will be able to update your iPod

yes, iDump will place the files on any pc. Once on a pc just add to iTunes and you will be able to put them on any iPod that is connected to that PC.

Another suggestion besides iDump, iPod Access, not free, but its really well written, maintains all the metadata on the song (last played, play count, rating), as well as play lists and all that junk.

If you load itunes on the nowe computer, it will probaly sync from your ipod onto the CPU. Did that with a minie I got about 3-4 years ago recently.
