Thread: Issues Removing Programs

Installed a video game for my son that keeps freezing upon startup. When trying to reinstall the program-noticed it wasnt even showing on the Add/Remove program from Control Panel. Can I try to reinstall without removing the first install? How can I remove the icon and all of the info from my Hard Drive if its not populating in the add/remove program screen?

Try running a program like ccleaner and see if a registry fix might make it appear in the Add/Remove program. Ccleaner also has an included Add/Remove section that might be able to pick it up on its own.

Usually if the program doesn't appear in Add/Remove, then it's usually self contained in its own destination folder. Just locate where it is and delete it, and then run the install again. If it asks you to overwrite other data, then it certainly installed some files in other (probably windows) folders.

As for the program - something tells me it might be an older title - are you sure it's compatible with your OS? Have you tried running it in compatbility mode? Right click on the exe file in the program folder (NOT the shortcut), and try running it under Windows compatibility mode. (Windows 98, etc.)

What might this program be? I like to have some idea before it downloads on my computer. Knowing you, I'm sure it is very helpful, but nice to know in advance, just the same.
