Man, I would think that after being on the market for over 18 months, these kinds of issues wouldn't exist. I'm not trying to slam HD DVD necessarily, but these kinds of issues surprise me after this much time has passed.

the combo player to look out for is made by LG and will be available this Xmas season, BH200 I think. The previous model by LG was a BH100 but was really a BR player that had an emulator built in to play HDDVD, so many of the special features would not work.
FYI, you can purchase a separate BR and HDDVD player for less or close to the cost of the combo unit.
Considering that I bought it through Amazon, that's not so simple.
As it stands, I have made contact with Toshiba, and two of the issues I have they have already been made aware of and things will be corrected with a firmware update.
From the sounds of it, they've rushed this generation of player on the market to get it out there early enough to impact holiday sales. It appears that they are taking their time with the A3 and the A35.
Warner to possibly go Blu. I hope this is true.
