Basically, they kind of hinted to me that ANY ISSUES THAT I HAVE, please bring to their attention so they can investigate them right away. They really pushed it as a "we're really hands on" type of approach. Of course, it just reeks of "Thanks for being a beta tester!"
I've had the Toshiba A-2 for almost a year and I've never had any isues at all and have not done any updating via the network connection. Heck, I love the up-convert from my regular DVD's on that thing. I think it varies player to player...
To be fair, I can report that last night I stuck Face/Off in, and it played flawlessly from beginning to end.
I did do one thing recommended by someone on AVS, and that was clear out the persistent storage in the player prior to playing. Not sure if that made the difference or not, but it was an uninterupted experience last night, which was nice.
First off, Crutchfield customer service is awesome.
I ordered the A2 from on 11/2, and it was B/O (Discontinued). They let me uncancel my order, and today they shipped it.
Now, how to sneak in an Onkyo 705 before XMAS? Then a BD Player, maybe the Panny BD30 once it hits the streets.
I will be purple.
stupid toshiba a-2!!! that 99 dollar piece of crap broke! i had to return it. i went to best buy and picked up an a3 for 199. thats actually a pretty good deal too b/c it came with two movies in the box (300 and bourne identity) and i got to pick out 3 free movies in the store. the a3 works like a champ, highly recommend it. i still prefer blu ray/ my ps3, for some reason though.
