Congratulations! Don't forget, until you get your Verizon card you can always stop by a Panera Bread location for great food and FREE WiFi access.

You mean "poor security" (not no security), right?
Can someone tell us what is so bad about WiFi access in terms of security? If I put one of the McAfee bundles (3-in-1, 5-in-1, etc.,) on the laptop, how is it still not secure when poking around the internet inside StarBucks?
You mean, like here:

Ok, I've got another laptop question, and hope it can be answered here w/o me starting another thread:
Regular 'white box' PCs often have PCI cards for specialized sound cards from Creative or Turtle Beach, etc.,
Laptops clearly don't have that. What am I going to miss out on audio-wise (besides volume level / speaker-driving capacity) by having a laptop instead of a 'white box' PC?
If I want to strip-out some audio from a movie DVD, what software will I need and can it be done on a laptop?
Make sure you understand what kind of slot for an aircard your laptop has. I'm thinking of getting an HP laptop, but all their models use the latest ExpressCard technology, yet none of the cell phone providers (the south bay stores for Verizon, TMobile, Sprint, Cingular anyway) were selling ExpressCard aircards as of 6 weeks ago .... they were still only selling the older PCCard technology .... and could not (or would not) tell me when ExpressCards were arriving.
RR instead of Norton, go to www.download.com and type in avg free.. scroll down and find avg free 7.5 for download. Use that. Its free and great AV software. Make sure to setup WEP on your wireless router, and you should be fine with just AVG.
And thats how you get ants!
Creative makes a USB sound card. I don't know about the quality, but I would assume its better than the onboard sound card.Originally Posted by beingbobbyorr

OK to set up WEP you put in a password and it kicks out some numbers, what to I do with those?
