Do it. You can't go wrong with a Panasonic plasma.
I almost got a 46" a couple months ago. I thought the 50+ would be too big.
My brand new 55" LED-LCD Samsung is too small. just kidding. But it is not too big.

I'm rocking a 58" Panny Plasma right now, and I can guarantee that the next TV I purchase, I will go to great lengths to get another one. They know how to do it.
For $25 more, you can get a 50" Panasonic plasma at Costco.

sure... but then you'd hafta spot me a few grand to increase the size of my living room.
believe me, i considered it. but my viewing distance under every conceivable room configuration will be a maximum of 11'. a 50" television not only starts to become a little much, it becomes a piece of art and a focal point in the room.
I got a 55-inch Toshiba, and bigger IS better.
This is the one I got, it is incredible.
