Thread: LGK Photography Challenge #4

This I think was an interesting challenge, but maybe you are right that people have lost some enthusiasm for the challenges and perhaps a break is in order. As for myself, I was really hoping to submit something. I kept thinking about action shots I would like to try but was not able to set aside the time to do them. Time has been tight for me the last couple of weeks. For that reason, I like the longer deadlines. I know that shorter deadlines keeps it fresh, and maybe some challenges deserve to be put to bed earlier than others, but I like having the luxury of more time to do it.

I also liked seeing markm's shots even though they were not "challenge eligible." It gave me some ideas. Perhaps we should encourage people to show or link to images that are relevant to the challenge even if they are not being officially submitted as part of the challenge. We just have to make sure that it is obvious which images are submissions and which are just for sharing.


FBJ: good luck with the checkride. Sounds like you have been busy too.

I know it is over, and the shots are kinda boring, but I was fooling around with macros anyway, so...

Santiclaws, that is fantastic lighting! Can you elaborate on your setup? Beautiful.

Lighting had less to do with it than PhotoShop - it was just plain ol' light from the window.

Added another one, I finally got some cool speed streaks at the Derby Dolls. I've been wanting to do something like this. A guy from the Daily Breeze helped me with the settings and I picked up on it real quick. There are a lot of cool possibilities using the flash as a fill with the streaking colors of the background showing the movement/speed.

When does this challenge end?

It's officially over, and the Challenges are on a temporary hiatus. I don't see any problems with adding more images to this Challenge (or any other for that matter) after the fact, though.

Especially if they have good looking cameo's in them.
