LGK Photography Challenge #5



Alright, everyone! Here’s the theme for LGK Photography Challenge #5. Watti made his choice for the photographer who best illustrated the theme of Challenge #4 in his photographs, and his choice was Blurker! Blurker gets the opportunity to choose the next Challenge theme! And here it is, as chosen by our good friend, Blurker!

AGED

Blurker sez: "I want to see pics that convey a sense of age, a feeling of "old." Old places. Old things. Old buildings. Old objects. Et-cetera."

Pictures submitted to this thread should all reflect something to do with the theme. Of course, individual interpretation of the Challenge’s theme is what will make the photographs unique but please, explain the artistic intent of the image if it isn’t obvious! YOUR LGK PEERS ARE YOUR CRITICS, so don’t try pullin’ a fast one!! Please remember critiques are not personal attacks, take them with a grain of salt and apply it towards your art!

This thread will be heavily moderated (by adhering to the rules) to maintain an easy format. Following the rules will help me keep this thread from straying from its original intent, so "Thank You!" in advance!

This Challenge will end at NOON on Tuesday, June 17, 2008! You have FOUR WEEKS to get your best images into your photo post! REMEMBER, you don’t have to put them all up at once, but you have to have at least one image in your image post to openly critique or applaud others!

Start carrying your cameras with you, everyone! I can’t wait to see what we all come up with!

Nice theme, should be easy to find old stuff. Hell I c an just look in the mirror.

Dang it. And I was in south Kona yesterday. Looks like I gotta go back before I leave the island.

I wish I could go to South Kona.

That being said, I have no idea what I'm going to do for this challenge. I should have picked something easier.

Gettin' started, finally...

Circa Eighteen FIF-ty...
Wife's antique heirloom cameo, lit from behind by placing it atop a speedlight
set to -3.0 EV. 50mm lens, 20mm extension tube, 1/250th at f/16 ISO 200.

Wrought iron planter detail, L.A. Arboretum. 1/540th at f/2.8 ISO 100.

I am going with a nature theme. I was lucky enough to be on vacation in Arizona. when the new challenge (5) started. Arizona's landscape is very dated and I have managed to represent that in my photo's.
