My comments were directed at the typical switcher, not the Mac population in general. I wasn't insinuating that a computer user who desires simplicity is ignorant. The mere simplicity of Mac OS X (or the impression of it) coupled with creative marketing attracts the common ignorant PC user to the Apple store.

I've been using Mac OS since 2001, and I switched because it just "worked" for me.

Yep, you don't even have to be enrolled either as long as you have an acceptance for the upcoming year. (I got mine last month and I don't start until September.)

I love my Sony Vaio all in one Desktop and my new Macbook. I have the best of both worlds!!!!! I like the both of them.

Also, I bought my daughter her Macbook with the student discount with my ID card, I graduated in 2005!!!!

Are there Mac users who are morons? Absolutely, but the same is true for PC users. Just because you want something to not be a pain in the ass doesn't mean you're incapable of understanding it or oblivious to the driving factors of your decision.

Totally agree. I grew up on PC's and my friends and I used to build our own machines, constantly upgrading and revamping machines just for fun. There came a time where I didn't want to have to do that anymore. So about 8 months ago, I bought a MacBook Pro. It does everything I need it to do, without having to worry about upgrading every 6 months. Sure, I'll eventually have to buy a new one, but most PC users who constantly upgrade their machines might spend just as much as I will on a new machine. So it evens out, and I don't have to hassle with it. Why buy a used car that you have to work on every week when you can buy a new one for a bit more and not worry about it? I'm not saying one is better than the other, I just think that buying a Mac was a good choice for me. I commend you for attempting to argue with OP. When I didn't get a straight response the first time, I gave up. Karma for you.

Anyone that is on the fence...buy what you want but don't buy a Mac because of lines like that.
