If he's professioinal level audio/video/photo work then sure...go for a Mac but if you are just a consumer who is going to be surfing the net, listening to tunes and making a STAMKOOOOOSSSSS picture then stick with PC.

absolutely... for the price of an iMac, he can get a really bangin' machine.

    I don't either. You're dodging the question.

Over time? How much longer do PC's & Macs need to be around for for the "list to grow?" Again, you're dodging the question because you know you're full of ****. Besides games, WHAT?

What the **** is "IE tab?" Firefox had tabs way before Microsuck even though of it. Anything they do is just a cheesy ripoff. You've been brainwashed & it's sad. Come back to the light!

I don't need to upgrade my Mac. It's still kicking ass 3 years later. I'll bet you had to upgrade though just so you could install the latest version of office.

And for the record, I was a dedicated PC user for YEARS. When OS X came out, it was game over for M$. The fact that no one wants to upgrade to their latest and most magical OS because it's a total piece of **** should tell you something about what side of the fence you are on. PC users are just bitter because while they're in the corner licking their wounds, they see Mac users happy with their purchases.

Right there is pretty much the reason I spent some time in the Church of Apple yesterday.

This all depends on what EXACTLY you're looking for.

All things considered, Macs are worth the extra bucks. Trust me.

To answer some of your concerns and questions:

Crappy mouse? Learn to use the option & ctrl keys! You've love it. If not, use your own mouse. Just plug in and you're ready to go. Unlike PC where you have to go into your control panel and fiddle around for minutes at a time.

Wacom? Yes, I use one. No problem.

Extra drives? Printers? Just make sure they're Mac compatible. I'd assume nearly all are compatible with Mac since Mac is not your girlfriend's estranged cousin anymore. I've never had a compatability problem. I mean, who the hell doesn't make their software Mac compatible these days?

Yes, Excel comes with Microsoft Office along with Word, Powerpoint the best e-mail around Entourage. **** OUTLOOK!

Mac comes with extra programs? Where are these? You'll use just about every program Mac installs at one point or another. You don't have to deal with advertisements or any of that junk when you get a Mac. Plus, uninstall is a click or two away. Unlike PC, you don't have to stand there for an hour selecting which programs to uninstall and waiting for another hour to allow it to uninstall but not delete all of those ****ing folders it created. Talk about GAY!

Internet Browsing, Just stay on top of your add-ons, plug-ins and that sort of thing. The same applies to PC. Make sure you have the latest version of Firefox, Flash, Quicktime, etc. and you won't deal with any problems. Photoshop? Please. PCs should be banned from using the program. Pictures and Video? Mac created iPhoto, iDVD, iMovie for simple folk to create simple (and sometimes, rather creative) photo presentations, movie presentations and even burn them on DVD. They're excellent programs for the typical enduser just looking to make a nice looking presentation whether it be wedding photos, a wedding dvd, baby shower photos, portfolio, etc..

iTunes was created by Apple. Notice you don't see RealPlayer, Windows Media Player, or another of those other ****ty music players anymore. Enough said.

Get a MAC! Especially if you want to stay away from viruses that corrupt your system, delete your files and entire database and put you out $1000.

Actually the new macs come with the new mouse, which has a wheel & right click button. It's pretty slick.

    Ok, here are the facts...

PCs and Macs use the same spec hardware.
OSX and Windows can run on either platform.
PCs and Macs both have manufacturing issues.

PC is cheaper, easier to find a technician if you run into a problem, and are the most commonly used systems out there.

Mac is more expensive, easier to use out of the box, and are usually more expensive to repair.

If you want to use 1 Mac program, grab VMWare, and create a virtual machine running OSX.

If you need a special PC freeware program, buy Parallels or Fusion and run it on your Mac.

Its all the same **** now anyways. If you wanna be the cool kid on the block, go Linux or buy a tablet PC.

If you buy a PC, go with a business class machine. Vista Business edition is starting to grow on me, but I would prefer using XP.

If you go with a Mac, go with a Mac Mini or a Macbook.

If you want a notebook, Im sure most would tell you a Macbook Pro, but for my money, Id take this...
HP Compaq 2710p Notebook PC Small & Medium Business
And thats how you get ants!
