Sweet Jesus, never in my life have I see a company portray their partons as such imbeciles. Don't Mac users get offended when they see that?

Also....not being able to play games is kind of a big deal. It's a huge feature that you have to do without. Also, iTunes isn't all that great. I use it because it organizes stuff for my iPod but I don't use it to rip my music at all. The ripper is a total P.O.S. I swear, if iTunes didn't retreive album cover art I would never have it on my PC. Why bother when I can just use Windows Media Player to wirelessly stream my music to my 360 so that I can listen to it on the home theatre. Can you Mac people do that without installing a Windows OS on your Mac?

Macs are pretty....I'll give them that but I'll take a Sony VAIO laptop over a Macbook any day of the week.

Try comparing your Sony VAIO (btw, I'm sorry about your purchase) to a MacBook Pro.

In terms of the OP's post, what is your budget? Do you prefer a laptop or desktop? Also, do you use Excel for its basic features, or do you do VBA work? I know there were some VBA issues on Office 08 for Mac.

I have a Mac that runs dual boot (XP Pro/Leopard) due to Visual Studio and MS Access. I gave Vista Business a chance, but I eventually upgraded the OS to XP Pro. That **** was a mess.

The learning curve on Mac OS is not as high as you might think. David's Pogue's The Missing Manual on Leopard will greatly help you out if you are intimidated.

My biggest gripe is that Apple doesn't discount its outdated lineup as quickly as PC vendors do. For example, the current MacBook Pro hasn't had a major revision since June '07, yet its price remains the same. Despite having Dell and Co. jump to Penryn processors, Apple uses outdated processors at a premium price. SO, before you make any purchase, make sure you're not buying something that is on the brink of a major update (MBPs, MBs and iMacs are the leading candidates).

Buy a Mac Stan. Don't let the brainwashed douchebags at the Mac store scare you off. All your music, photos, and videos will run much more efficiently on a Mac, and lastly WIndows Vista is THE BIGGEST PIECE OF **** EVER!!!

So in other words, everything you said earlier was complete B.S. and you were hoping that I'd just let you ignore it and get away with it?

No, it's not. That's what my gaming console is for. There isn't a single game on the PC that I'm missing out on, and I don't have to spend $500 every 6 months to upgrade my console so that I can play the latest game. If you'll notice, the O.P. didn't even mention games as one of his criteria, yet that's what you're trying to fall back on? FAIL.

Yeah, the ripper is such a piece of ****. You put the cd into your drive, click the button and it rips the disc. Seriously dude, it's sad. Just stop.

Yes, it's called Front Row. Or you can get an airport express and stream music straight from iTunes for $75. Since Mac users aren't on welfare, we can afford it.

    My personal opinion:

If you are an artist of sorts and plan on working with programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, etc., then get a MAC.

If you are in the business world, or want to play games, or just want to use it for casual reasons like internet browsing, then get a PC.

My Powerbook (no problems) has lasted me longer than 3 separate PCs did (including repairs). I would never go back to a PC. The only reason I still have my PC is because it is still loading the welcome screen so I can take all the important stuff to my Mac.

You're a console gamer. That's great. So am I. However, to turn a blind eye towards this just because YOU won't take advantage of it is not fair. It's a serious limitation. I'm willing to bet that there are more PC gamers out there that are anti-console than there are Mac guys out there who are anti-PC. You mean to tell me that of all of you enlightened Mac users there isn't a single one that prefers PC gaming over console? Mighty big assumption there sparky. FAIL.

Yeah, the ripper is such a piece of ****. You put the cd into your drive, click the button and it rips the disc. Seriously dude, it's sad. Just stop.
Damn, sounds like you rip all of your music into 128/kbps AAC files because...well, because if you don't you'd never come close to filling up your iPod with the amount of songs that Apple says it will hold. I strongly advise a little research in audio fidelity/Mp3 file sizes and bit rates. If you aren't ripping into VBR using EAC with a LAME encoder then I feel bad for you. FAIL.

So, Mac users are so wealthy that they can afford a $75 do-hickey to stream their music but they lack similar affluence when it comes to upgrading their PC to play the latest PC game? Dude, really? FAIL!

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery...
The only thing I have bought for my laptop so far....a used LINKSYS wireless card that doubled my data rate so that I can download content on my laptop at the same speed as my wired desktop. Cost? $27. Not bad to dowload at 108/Mpbs while extending my range 3x.

My laptop and desktop are compatible with everything. I don't have to miss out on a great deal because it's not Mac compliant. On the other hand limited choices for a Mac user means that prices will stay nice and high on dated hardware because....well because you don't have a ****ing choice now do you?
