    Default Making CD covers

I want to make some custom CD covers. Is this hard to do? Anyone have simple directions to do this or a link to a helpful site? I am planning on just using the plain white paper covers.

for Windows here is a program that will work well http://www.easycoverdesignpro.com/

and here is a good one for Mac http://http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/20856

The best way to do this is to create your art in Photoshop and then import it to one of these programs. There isn't a single good program that will do it all in a professional way but the 2 programs I suggested will do the job you are looking for.

As far as tutorials go I will look for some for you that can help you with this project.

Most of the tutorials I have seen are for Photoshop. It will take a little learning to get this done but with a little effort and time you can do this. Reading these tutorials will help out a lot. Also you can down load a program for free called Gimp which is a decent Photoshop clone. It doesn't have all the features of Photoshop but it has enough features to get through these tutorials.

Here is the easiest one I found, it was actually easier than I thought.

I do have a question, can I buy paper the size of a cd jacket or do I have to use reguar paper and cut it? I'm thinking about just burning the finished cover to a disk and going to Kinkos, I need 50 copies.

If you can find paper the size of CD covers then I say go for it. although you may be able to fit 2 covers on a single paper. and printing on the CD cover size paper may take some tweaking with the printer to get the printer to print on the smaller paper correctly. Again that is only a maybe.

When you sit back and watch someone else do it it makes it so much easier to grab the concept of what you are trying to do.

I just watched that video and that is definitely an easy process. kudos on this find!
