Thread: My vizio plasma tv exploded

Any Vizio owners ever have this happen?

Watching TV with the wife last night, then BANG..no more TV. It seriously sounded like a gun shot going off in the house, it was that loud. I've had it for 2 1/2 years and never had a problem with it. Can't find the Costco receipt and Vizio pretty much is useless when it comes to answers.

I'll probably end up kicking it to the curb and getting a more reliable brand, but it sucks to have a TV for less than 3 years and have it blow up like that.

Any thoughts?

Exploded like the Kings. You must have been watching them! The TV can't take the one-sided play.

I'm on my 4th Vizio, and it's experiencing the same problems as the first three I had them replace. Sometimes the damn thing turns on and there's sound but no picture. I wouldn't recommend this brand to anyone.

I didn't. This is number 4, as in the 3rd one they've replaced after the first one I bought. I may be crazy, but I ain't stupid...

My Sharp does the same thing from time to time. I have to turn it on & off a few times, and then it stays on.

No problems with my 2 Samsungs though. One is LCD & the other is Plasma.

How did you get your 3 replacements? Do you have the extended warranty? Vizio only seemed to care about the warranty I had, rather than having some sort of explanation for why the television they built doesn't work anymore.
