Exclamation Need Help- What is the Best AntiVirus Software?

I have a Dell PC desktop and I've been using Norton Symantec Antivirus software for the last 4yrs or so. But as of latley I've been getting a virus and/or spyware here and there that Norton is not detecting.

So I called Norton told them the problem that this is not the first time a virus/spyware that has not been detected in my computer by you guys. That I have the all in one (2nd best package) that you guys offer and it never seems to fail that whenever there is a problem you guys want MORE and MORE money from people like me, when I shouldn't have to pay another dime for another program that you guys offer when considering what I paid for a program that was suppose to be protecting my computer already. This is just another way for you guys to continue to make more money off of us people and it is b.s.

I've checked out a site by AntiVirus Software Review 2010

I've been told by a friend that AVG antivirus program is real good.

So I ask you guys this, what Antivirus Software is the best one out there you think?

Thank you all in advance for your help!!!

like mentioned above AVG or Avast is your best bet, they're free and for a fee you can upgrade. Also download Malwarebytes and Super Anti Spyware and you should be good to go. I get my downloads from cnet.com.

    good luck

My experience with Avast! was not that great. I love AVG-Free. It's more lightweight compared to Avast! and they don't make you do a gazillion updates and restart your computer every week.

yup, AVG all the way. not a CPU whore like Norton or anything Symantic.

I can't believe that you have had Norton for that long.

btw, you might need to do a lot of work uninstalling Norton.

Avast and Malwarebytes. Have not had an issue since I downloaded those programs. Used to virus / malware about every 3 months using McAfee

    Norton Internet Security 2010

From 2009 onward.. it's like a totally different product. 2008 and earlier versions were bloated and slow as hell.

If you're up for it, you an download the NIS 2011 public beta for free: http://www.symantec.com/norton/beta/...1beta_overview
