    Default Network Security for smartphones/tablets

My company has decided that it's time to look into software that will allow remote wiping/locking of smartphones and tablets in case they are lost or stolen. I've been researching (googling) programs for doing this, but I thought I might ask the question here and see if anyone has any actual experience with this. Right now, we're currently looking for ways to remotely disable or lock devices like iPad and Android phones in the way that we can do it with Blackberries.

I've seen a couple options, but not much that will cover multiple platforms. In fact, the only option I've come across so far that will do it for all platforms is Sophos Mobile Control, which isn't even actually available yet.

Does anybody else have any experience with this? Any recommendations or suggestions?

    Thanks.

I think this is the industry leader for what you're asking for.

I've been using Lookout Mobile Security on my android phones. The premium version has the remote wipe option that you are looking for. I can testify that the loud alarm function is not only a smart function but very useful when your wife spends too much time in the mall.

If you are looking to lock just the email and outlook portion its free with an android 2.3 device. None out yet but will be very soon, (NO I don't count the Nexus S, its not carrier branded).
I also use lookout, they do a good job.
another option is Phone Halo, I also have one of these they will let you lock it if its gets too far from you mwith a touch of a button
