As long as the media can hold up over time, these will be a fantastic backup solution.

    While we're at it...

Anyone have any recommendations on good archival-quality DVD-R media?

Here's a good article on archival media. It includes a few recommendations:

    Sony

I've burned about 400 of them and have had only 1 coaster.

I hope these will be ready by next year... Who knows...they could be at the next CES convention when it hits Las Vegas... Plus...it would be cheaper than the last 500GB hard drive I just bought for backup...

Dude, you posted this after posting the article. It said in the 1st paragraph 3 to 5 years.

Any chance these guys could be made Rewritable to more regularly back up your files?

What are the current largest DVD storage disks available?

The reason I mentioned CES is that sometimes a company would show a product in a beta stage that would be ready in about 1-3 years...and later showcase the final version shortly before it goes to market... This is actually where my hopes are...that it will be shown at CES...and I should have added "in the beta stages" to my last statement... I do apologize for not making myself clear in that instance...
