IPhone 4S Pre-Orders Break Record: Apple
I'm waiting until April when my contract expires with AT&T, then I can decide whether to stick with them or go to Verizon, especially since I get discounts from VZ. If what SBU mentioned is on time I can decide on the iPhone 5. Meantime my 3GS is still a great phone for me.
I am debating it. I really like the camera on the 4S and love Apple products (I Am typing on a Mac Mini) but is it $200 better than the LG Marquee ?
this should be the new iPhone5 design.
"Despite the record-breaking pace of iPhone 4S pre-orders, it's hard to determine whether consumer demand is stronger for the new device than it was for previous versions. Although first-day orders for the iPhone 4 were 600,000 when it launched last year, Australia and Canada weren't among the launch countries then – they got the phone a month later.
Apple has also expanded the number of carriers in each country that sell the phone. This is particularly significant in the U.S., where AT&T was the only carrier for the iPhone last summer. The iPhone 4S is also sold by Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel Corp."
2 new companies and many other countries to reach 1 million.
P.S.
I'm one of the disappointed ones who was expecting a bigger screen. Still enjoying the ipad2 though.
I am secret asian man.
The new 4s isn't enough 'upgrade' to change out my 4. Which is fine by me. I don't need to be dropping hundreds of dollars every 6-8 months on a new phone anyway.
And anyway the iPhone 5 will be out soon...as will the 6...6s....7....7s.....
And I really hope the screen doesn't get any bigger. That's what the iPad is for!
Here is what Gizmodo had to say about the screen size This Is Why the iPhone's Screen Will Always Be 3.5 Inches
edit: Sadly, the fanboi war beneath it is more entertaining than the article.

Almost everyone I know with a 4 is keeping it. No rush to get a new one. Everyone with a 3GS or lower is upgrading. I have the 3GS and I'm eligible to renew this month - good timing. Its enough of an upgrade for me and I'm not waiting for the 5 to come out. My husband has a 4 and I've done pretty much everything except off him to get it. We have AT&T and will be staying with them - mostly because he's employed there AND our service is the best its every been. We've have 3 other carriers and had bad service (cell and CSR).
my husband's work is finally replacing his 3 with a 4S and i can't wait to see it. i have the 4, was pretty happy with the 3GS but had to replace it because i got angry and threw it (lol, i don't recommend throwing your phone in a fit of anger). i got used to the 4 and now i'm pretty happy with it also. i don't feel the urge to replace it but ooooh boy does my husband need the upgrade. i'm just interested to see how much (if noticeable at all) the 4S differs from the 4.
