It comes with a faster processor and is built better then the current dells are IMO. Today, HP is putting out a better products than Dell.

Personally im a fan of having a laptop that you can plug into a desk set up whenever you want

my set up is

macbook pro
17" monitor
apple keyboard
apple mighty mouse

Really depends on what you are doing. I built my current desktop because my dual core couldn't handle HD video encoding off my camcorder.

I use my laptop when I want to watch TV and mess around on the internet. Otherwise I use my desktop for everything. It is faster, bigger screen, and doesn't make my nuts sweat.

This was the first desktop I built from scratch. Every other time I would just order a dell. Overall I built a $2400 Dell for $1040 bucks and the case/video card/motherboard/memory were all better. It was also extremely easy and I highly recommend it.

Not a gamer, not a video editor, sadly as much as I love to play guitar and sing I dont even have time to do that these days as much as I would like. With that said, we do just basic computer stuff. Hell I would use my current computer ito the day it dropped dead if not for annoyance factor that is the video issues with youtube and the occasional freezing.

If you're just doing regular computer stuff just wait for the iPad. Not only will it be cheaper, but It'll do everything you need it to at the touch of your fingers. PC's and laptops are slowly going to be replaced by iPads and iPad copycats in the next 5 years.
