I have both and use my laptop 99% of the time. I can take it into wherever I happen to be and the way they are constructed etc., these days, they can hold as much as a regular desktop. In fact, I am thinking about getting rid of desktop totally. No question as far as I am concerned, laptop def. beats out desktop!
just the opposite here. I take my laptop when I travel but only use it at home when the kids are using the PC. I can live without my laptop when I am not traveling.
i prefer my desktop. don't like the small screen, keyboard, or mouse pad but you can always put an usb/bluetooth key board and mouse on it. also most of the new laptops have hdmi port to hook up to a bigger monitor.
Build a desktop, or get something nice from best buy. Laptops last 2 to 3 years usually. Desktops have much more flexibility to change things up in the future. You'll also get more computer for less.
Okay, agree with previous posts about desktops, but nothing beats being in a recliner, with laptop and watching Kings games. (My laptop screen is fairly large and I attach a "roller mouse").
Desktop. I have a big monitor and it doubles as my entertainment center. Thinking of getting a netbook for quick stuff on the go. Hackintosh FTW !
For work, I use my Macbook Pro. For gaming, I use my Windows desktop. For music, I use my Hackintosh desktop. If it weren't for gaming or music production software I wouldn't have a desktop at all. So if you don't plan on gaming or doing anything that requires a lot of power, I would go with a laptop.
Laptop.
If I had extra cash I'd get a desktop w/ a super large hard drive and back up connected all the time for my pix and music only.
