Hey Eckt, what browser are you using with JB? Ive been toggling between the Oem and Chrome mobile and both are super glitchy.
So far so good with the DNA. Seems most of my issues are with Jelly Bean and not the phone. I wish I could revert back to ICS.
When Sprint and HTC released the initial JB update....man they really effed it up. My phone was super laggy, battery was draining much faster than with ICS. Sprint blamed HTC, HTC blamed Sprint. New maintenance update was released late last week, and we're back to normal.
My guess is, Verizon and HTC are working on an update for the DNA. So just be patient. Don't call Verizon because they'll make you do unnecessary Factory Resets. Which reminds me, Have you cleared your cache since doing the update?
The DNA is running JB, 4.1.1 out of the box. And I havent seen a update window open. Checked for a new update and nothing as of yet. I keep the cache pretty tidy to begin with so that shoudnt be a issue.
My major beef with this phone is I cant toggle between 3/4g (cdme/lte) anymore. Its 4g all the time which is absolutely KILLING my battery. That and I cant sync my comcast.net email account using 4g for some reason.
Im really on the fence about keping the DNA. Its a spectacular device but the OS is just sooo lacking so far. I have until Thursday to take it back if I want. I just may do it and sit tight on my perfectly running Thunderbolt for a few months. I dunno.
I'll give Dolphin a shot again. I had it on my Incredible a while back and wasnt super impressed...but that was 3 years ago.
I dont particularly care for how the new OEM browser is set up with the menu and the menu options. Its a heck of a lot more cumbersome to get to a bookmark than it was with ICS's browser. I wonder if there is a "classic" style option somewhere in there.
Nope. Under my "Preferred Network Settings" as choices it lists "Global", "CDMA/LTE" and "GSM/UMTS" and thats it. It has to be a Verizon thing...not being able to toggle. Blows.
Force 3G only - Droid DNA General - TeamBAMFQuote:
So with the DNA, it appears that the "CDMA Only" option is gone from the Mobile Network settings. Furthermore, access to the testing menu thru *#*#4636#*#* is gone. However, you can still download the "Phone Info" by SC@Taiwan app from the play store (There are other LTE Switch apps, but this is the one I use). For those of us who remember the early days of the Thunderbolt when LTE was in it's infancy, you'll see where I'm going with this.
1) Run the "Phone Info" app.
2) Select "Phone information"
3) Select <CDMA + LTE/EvDo auto> (or which ever radio selection you're currently set to)
4) Change to <CDMA auto (PRL)>
5) Just hit your Home button to exit, you shouldn't even have to restart.
Voila' - You're in 3G
I've been thrilled with battery performance in 4G, but I occasionally need to demonstrate my phone's 3G performance for my line of work, and I'm sure folks can find other uses for this function.
Oh yeah, you can change back to 4G simply by going into the Mobile Data Settings Menu and change Preferred Network to CDMA/LTE or Global
