Yep, tried both ends on two different pieces of equipment.

I'm going Bertuzzi on Fry's tomorrow!!!! lol!

Well, guess I have to go Bertuzzi on myself.

Upon taking the cable back to Fry's they gave me full credit.

I then walked over to the TV department to ask why the cable didn't work.

The salesman said the cable is fine, he thought the same thing I did at first.

The Acoustic Research cables have a clear rubber shield that looks like glass. He said to just pull the rubber shield off. Well, blow me down. Right he was.

So, I just got another cable, removed the clear rubber (not glass) shield, and have the digital audio up and running.

fwiw, best buy does price match local competitors...usually it's item for item, however cables are usually up in the air when it comes down to it...

I have never seen, let alone installed, an Optical Cable before.

The darn clear rubber looked and felt like glass and I didn't want to try to pull it or anything.

Installing the cable does improve the audio tremendously.

I am partial to Best Buy/Pacific Sales since I do have family working there.

Thing was, Best Buy only had the Monster Cables, I think, and they are sooooo overpriced that I really didn't consider buying one.

Good to know that Best Buy does price matching!

LOL They all have the rubber tips. Seriously, my tummy hurts from laughing.

my bb does have some acoustic research, but they are in a different aisle because monster pays to have it's own aisle. yeah, they really do, and monoprice does have really good prices, but that's if you don't mind waiting a few days.
