    Default PS2 won't play movie

    Wasn't sure if this belongs here or in the game section. Didn't use my PS2 as a dvd player much before, but have played movies in it before. Someone brought over a burned dvd a few weeks ago and the movie played fine, now I am trying to play a "regular" DVD and it says it can't read the disc. Is it just a coincedence that it won't play now or could the burned disc have messed up the PS2? I have the skinny PS2 if that makes a difference. Need help quickly as I rented Monsters vs. Aliens and the natives are getting restless.

    It's a known problem with PS2s. Take a look at this thread.

    May want to call Sony to see if they'll replace the unit, but from the looks of it... they won't unless it's under warranty. They want you to buy a PS3
