What's the easiest way to get my two devices to communicate?

Medialink? Yup. Works great. Download the trial and give it a whirl. There is no expiration on the demo, but it does limit you to 30 minutes per session, IIRC.

Vuze (or Azareus) is a torrent downloading program which also links up to your PS3 from a Mac, so you just drag your files over and play it through your PS3. Hope that helps.
