This TV is on sale at Costco for $1699.99. Does anyone know if this is a good set/deal?
52" 1080p LCD HDTV
Resolution: 1920 x 1080
Contrast Ratio: 2000:1
Brightness: 450 cd/m2
The AQUOS® LCC-5262U sets a new standard for large-screen flat-panel TVs. With Full HD Spec 1080p resolution, dramatically enhanced black level and an elegant new design, it produces a breathtaking picture quality that is second to none.
I usually do a lot of research before making a big purchase, but I saw this and thought it looked pretty good. There's a limited supply, so I thought thought I'd throw it out to you guys for input.
I have an Aquos and I like it a lot. It is a couple of years old and is not the 1080 version, but I like the way it looks in HD and also in standard def. Some of the HD sets out there don't look that great in standard definition. It has a lot of inputs on the back as well.
I do not know how that model compares to other current models because I have not researched TV's lately. By the way, I also bought my Aquos from Costco.
I also have an older, smaller Aquos but I couldn't be happier with it. I don't think you can go wrong with one on sale/at a discount.
i'm in the same boat... i bought a 32" Aquos for the bedroom and couldn't be happier outside of the rather poor internal speakers (which i don't use anyway, so whatever). it looks great in both SD and HD and i got it really cheap because they were blowing them out to make way for the incoming 1080p model, which at that size is totally unnecessary anyway.
My friend had a 50 something incher, the picture looks top notch.

Actually, it's probably due to the fact that (according to a legend, quite appropriately named) Peter the Great has traveled through those parts.

I own this same model and I love it. It's seen it's share of almost every type of media: Blu-ray, DVD, HD trailers (on the PS3), broadcast HD (including mucho hockey), gaming (360, PS3, and Wii), HDV (from my HDV camcorder - 1080i via HDMI), and SD broadcast.

I paid a grand more about 17 months ago, so this is a great deal.
Also, be aware that only one of the two HDMI inputs are audio AND video. The second is video only. If you have 2 or more HDMI devices, and you aren't using a surround receiver, you'll want to get an HDMI switcher. Fortunately, monoprice rocks balls and they carry them, as well as great prices on HDMI and other cabling. (They just started carrying colored HDMI cables, too, which is great for those of us morans that blow their hard-earned money on electronics.)
This one has 2 outputs, but it's HDMI 1.3a compliant
Thanks for all the replies!
Off to Costco this morning!!
