...it doesn't make any sense to commit to a 3G phone and just wait for the 4Gs to come out, right?

There's lots of commercials trying to peddle off the 3Gs and I bet you can get some great deals now, for technology that will soon be old 'n' slow, right? (That's always gonna be the case but especially now)

What is 4G going to allegedly have that 3G does not?

Do we really need more teenagers simultaneously walking and staring at their mobile devices 24/7?

Pretty sure the 4G for Verizon wont be out til the end of the year. You can wait forever for the next thing. An option for you could be the older Droid if you want to wait.

Well, for those of us on Verizon, 4G (LTE) will allow to finally do voice and data simultaneously. I haven't been in one situation with Verizon where I needed to call and browse at the same time. Of course, I am getting old (37), so I ain't as hip as I used to be.

Also, 4G will give faster data rates (and probably a larger data fee).

Oh man, I'm the Scrooge who wants a flip phone to call and text and that's it. I even work at an electronics retailer.

Not sure when Sprint's 4G is hitting California, but when it does, I might switch carriers. I despise at&t with a passion, Verizon is too expensive, and T-Mobile has weak reception in the bay area.

Rumor has it that California is suppose to have 4G rollout for Sprint around July-September. I tested their 4G service in Vegas and I was surprisingly pleased because the speeds were almost as good as 5mb cable internet service. I bought the Overdrive and found out after that if you wait for the EVO it has the Overdrive included in the phone.

Honestly who has issues with speed on 3G? All my complaints have to do with coverage and **** all to do with speed.

That's true. My biggest complaints using 3g on AT&T are dropped calls and horrible battery life. I was always using EDGE on my 3GS and now Nexus One.

3G is ok for mobile browsing, but it's slow when tethering. I can't wait for the Evo to come out.
