Who's getting it Friday?
Is there any reason to wait (seriously in case bugs need to be fixed?)?

The one thing that I like, is that it is going to make the OS take up less space by streamlining many functions etc. Also, an update for $30....why not get it. Mac has great support for their products so get it, and get help from tech support if needed.
Also, want to get the new tablet to be coming out in 2010. Think of a cross between an iPod touch and a tablet PC. Should be very interesting...also waiting to hear about the ATT&T contract situation and the possible move to Verizon
I would wait. Let them work out the bugs for a month or so before running out and buying it. Chances are, you won't even notice most of the changes anyway since they deal mostly with 64 bit computing. Unless you are dying for extra space on your computer, there is no reason to run out and buy it on friday, unless you want to be a bug tester for Apple.
I agree with Stone. I'd wait until they roll out 10.6.1 or 10.6.2. If you are going to buy it, BACKUP. Time Machine is your friend.
Put the Verizon rumors to sleep for at least a couple of years. The iPhone is never going CDMA. LTE, yes, but it's never coming on CDMA.
When I was at MacMall, I know as reliable as Taco Bell, he said the store was gearing up for a Fall 2010 launch of an iPhone on the Verizon network. The details are being worked out now. The next Gen network for Verizon is supposed to be more advanced than AT&T's is and Apple likes that.
OK, I'll wait. I figured, Thanks.
i pre-ordered it from apple. i'm supposed to get it on friday. i probably won't get around to installing it until saturday though. i'll post my impressions

There's not much reason to wait. This isn't a major overhaul - but a LOT of refinements.
The two most intriguing things to me are built in Exchange support (which Windows doesn't even have) so no more having to fiddle with Entourage, and Cisco IPSec VPN SUpport, so no need to fiddle with their crappy Cisco VPN client software.

You don't consider refinements that free up about 7 gigs of space from the OS a "major overhaul?"
Here's some reviews that are already talking about the bugs that almost always pop up when a new OS is released.
