some one what to help me?

I am cleaning off my friends hard drive(hes got like 5 trojan virus) using the windows xp installer i sorta know how to do it but i would like a list so i could double check.. thank you..karma for the one who gets me a list first!!!

No, he is right, for each badass virus google its description and how to get rid of it. It is absolutely neccessary for rootkit viruses, "normal" antivirus programs can't delete them. You need instructions.

Simple and best way is to save any documents and do a full format and install. Just because you see 5 trojans there could be a lot more behind the scene. If you don't believe me listen to Leo Laporte.

Leo Laporte is a douche bag. You're better off taking it to Geeksquad or similar. Doing it yourself is for teenagers.

Not really sure what you are asking for XP. Do you want to wipe the hard drive and reinstall WinXP or do you want to remove the infections? If your friend has his needed data backed up just format the drive and do a clean OS install. To do this...

Insert the XP disk in the cd-rom and boot the computer. It will ask to to press any key to boot from cd, press any key. It should take a few minutes to get setup ready and it will ask if you if you want to repair or perform a new install. Select new install, select the partition you want to format [probably c:], and you're good to go. **This will wipe the drive so any data that hasn't been saved is gone**

So are you implying you're dumber than a teenager? The best answer you have is have geeksquad overcharge you for something as simple as a reinstall? I'd take Leo's douche bag opinion over yours any day.
