    Default Sprint, anyone?

    Hi all.

    I hate my iPhone. I hate at&t.

Since iPhone users now have the option of removing the data plan, I was considering switching the phone to a family plan and use the phone as a regular phone/iPod. I gots to have 3G/EVDO!

I see there's a kick ass SERO option through Sprint. I'm looking at a decent handset (Centro, HTC Touch, Moto Q9h), so I want some feedback on these handsets (if available) and overall satisfaction with Sprint.

    $30 for unlimited data/text and 500 minutes? I'm sold!

    Thanks!

I like Sprint, some say they are too expensive, but it depends on what you get. I get better service than anyone I know, whether they have t-mobile, verizon, at&t, or whatever craptastic brand is around these days. Although if you break your phone, their insurance is a pain in the ass to go through.

Where do you live, if you don't mind my asking?

Have you considered SERO? No other company can beat an unlimited text/data plan with 500 min for $30. I like the Touch and even the Centro, so I'm considering using two phones.

Hey KT, I thought you liked the Iphone and were happy with it??? Anyways, I have Sprint because of work. I have the Blackberry 8830 World Edition (work phone). I dont know if I like Sprint. My phone guy used to swear by Verizon but now says that Sprint is the best. GrnCobra swears by the HTC.

    Thanks for that, good sir.

I should clarify. I hate the fact that the iPhone runs on AT&T. In terms of ease of use and features, it's a pefect phone. It lacks 3g and AT&T reception sucks. With the SERO plan, I get unlimited data/text and 500 min. for $30. If I wanted that on my iPhone, I would be paying close to $100 per month on a slow data network. I'm thinking of getting an iPod touch and selling the iPhone.

I'll be back for iphone 2 when it has 3g.

To be fair I am guessing like 95% of the people on SERo you don't actually qualify legit like. So you're really comparing apples to oranges. A "family" plan on ATT is similar and an employee plan is just about free for everything.
As far as the actual question Sprint had great data speeds and decent phones. though a bit pricier than the other carriers. the only real drawback is their customer service is the worst of all the carriers.

I don't have that phone but Sprint's service has rarely ever dropped a call. I have had Sprint for about 7 or 8 years.

Ive been using the Q9h for 3 weeks now and I like it a lot. One hand texting is great. I'm with Cingular, but they're decent in the Puget Sound.

It's a way better phone than my old Wizard 8125.

I have a helio which is on the sprint network and the 3G rules. I don't talk endlessly on my phone but I've had it for like 3 months now and haven't had any problems with dropped calls, so I would give the service a thumbs up at least.

Well, an employee at a local corporate Sprint store told me about the plan. (www.sprint.com/sero) So where did I go wrong?

The $60 iPhone plan (450 min, 200 SMS, unlimited data) on EDGE or a $30 SERO plan (500 min, unlimited data/SMS) on EVDO is a no brainer.

I tried out the HTC Touch. I like it. I'm not a fan of WM6, but it'll do for what I want (light email/text/web browsing.) Anything else I enjoyed from an iPhone will be done with an unlocked iPhone or iPod Touch.

I think I'll pick up Sprint this weekend.

    Thanks for the advice, folks!!
