I'm looking at upgrading my desktop, but really don't want to go out and buy a new one, so I am looking at SSD's, anyone have a preference or experience with them ?

I just bought a new PC from Newegg and it came with a 120 gig SSD. I love it. I have the OS and a few important programs on it and that's it. Everything else goes on the HD. You can't beat the speed but I still think the cost / size is a little high. If this is gonna be your main source of storage it won't last too long.
