    Default Surround sound issue

I hooked up my surround system with my new tv. The audio between the tv and the stereo is off about a quarter to half a second. When they are both on, there is an echo effect. I tried just muting the tv and keeping the stereo on but the audio is not matching the video. It's like watching an old Japanese movie. I had this same equipment hooked up to my old tv and had no problems. Any suggestions on what could be causing this?

Usually the stereo has a way to adjust the timing. Have you checked the intructions? I had that issue with my Onkyo stereo and I got it fixed that way. They had a feature that made it easy for me to do so.

Yup...check receiver settings. Find out if the delay is from the just the rear or all speakers. Often times you can do a speaker by speaker adjustment....may be designated by time or sometime even by how far the speakers are from the receiver. I would try going through the set up menu or the settings menu.

This.....it's usually how far the speakers are away from the receiver
