Thread: Tablets under$250?

Hey nerds, I want to buy a tablet for my 10 year old daughter this Christmas and know nada about them. I really dont want to spend over $200 but will go up to $250 if need be. She surfs the web, plays little app type games, reads books and takes and edits pic/vids for youtube.

Any suggestions would be great. Im looking at the new, non HD Kindle fire but dont like the idea of being locked into a Amazon Only type relationship.

Nexus 7 made by asus. just got my 11 yr old one for Christmas.

Did you do a good chunk of due diligence on that Nexus 7 or was it a see/buy type blind purchase? Looks like you and I are in the same boat. I'll take a gander at it on Amazon. Thanks.

Never heard of the company but their Tab has pretty good reviews...Le Pan II.

Nexus 7 is out of my budget range. Thanks anyway. Galaxy Tab 2 is more my speed but still in that "above budget" bracket. I really want to keep it in the >$200-$225 turn key range other than a protective skin.

Ot but has anyone actually ordered a "used" anything off Amazon? I'm sure its all certified refurb stuff but I just cant see spending $$$ on something used, sight-unseen.

I guess I could be talked into buying a used item if I had some way of making sure it was worth the fuss of not knowing its condition.

I have a friend who works for Google and he sent to me. The price is only 199 for the 8GB. and you can always use cloud storage.

I have bought 4 tablets used for under $220. They have all worked great 2 are motorola xoom's and 2 are asus eee tf 101. Try amazon, and cowboom.com auctions.
