Taking this a step further, can anyone recommend a method or software for using a PS3 or xBox to access my Mac PC?

Would like to watch some stuff I have on my external hard drive through one or both.

I found a piece of software called the PS3 Media server that is made to allow access mac files though the PS3.

I downloaded and ran the PMS, I have the mac and the PS3 both on the same wireless network, but they do not see each other.

    Any help out there?

I'd very much appreciate anyone that can help me fix this issue.

Check and see if there are any firewall ports that need to be opened on the Mac. In Windows 7 you can add the folders you want to share using WMP, and you can host your media quite easily that way. Thats how I have my stuff streaming at home.
And thats how you get ants!

It was the firewall and another piece of software running that was blocking it.

Got it to work wireless, but lots of problems going wireless.
I think I'll connect them thru an Ethernet connection to overcome the wireless issues.
