Yes adn No. for the carriers adn makers that dont have any overlays or crapware YES for those with their own unique overlays it will take a bit longer to get those programs to work in stable environment to work with 2.2 or 3.0.
Thus we won't ugrade the X10 until Jan or Feb

I do, but my customers have spent huge amounts of dollars to setup automatic purchase order systems that are fax based.

They can not spend the money to upgrade in this economy..

These are mostly gov. and prime contractors.

Land lines for business are becoming expensive so I was looking to see if there is a cell/i something that would at least receive a fax..

Any info. would help.

Google online fax. There are a few sites that offer email services.
I use
eFax - Internet Fax to Email Services
Haven'y tried it on my phone but the fax goes to my gmail so it should work.
