Put a wireless card in your desktop and get an Apple Airport Express. That's what I use. It maybe a little but more than what you could pay on something else, but it works great for me.Originally Posted by Mr. Irreverent

This sucker retails for about $260 but it can be found cheaper if you look. It's wireless N so the speed and range will kick the crap out of anything on G.
For some reason, my house is where Linksys and D-Link routers go to die. I went through three different Linksys routers in about six months when I first built my network. They just plain stopped working. So I switched brands to D-Link. Same thing. Went through four of them within about a year. They just plain stopped working.
One day someone gave me a box of networking crapola from a business that had gone tits up. In the box was a little Netgear router. It's been on my network for almost two years without even so much as a hiccup.
