    Okay. I did that then went back to your previous post and did all that too.

    Still getting the error messages.

    BTW, this is the biggest problem I've had with Windows XP. Ever. This problem isn't anything more than a nuisance.

    My next laptop will probably be a Mac, but for now, I'm an all-PC guy.

    Question: if you open the recycle bin, do you see any files in there? can you restore them?

    Sounds like you are somehow stuck with a file in the bin that either no longer exists or don't have permission to access.

    When I delete a file, it shows up in the Recycle Bin. I can restore it, no problem. When I delete them, the files leave the recycle bin and are no longer in the place I deleted them from (as near as I can tell). Everything appears to operate normally, aside from the error message I get twice after I empty the recycle bin.
