Well, up here in Tumbleweed Country, we have Brighthouse. Which is TW...It's been great...Hardly ever down, blazing speed on internet, TV is good also. Going to dump Verizon and try their digital phone as well pretty soon. But guess it depends on what services cover your particular area...

I have had Charter for about 10 years now. Good service but expensive. It's my only choice because I am too far away from the hub for DSL or Fios......

Verizon sent me a brand new, nifty modem/router and said that if I wasn't pleased, I can walk.

Well, I was very pleased. Before the modem fried, I was about 27 KBps and now I'm up to 180KBps.

I think I'm getting over 700KBps with TW. But I'm paying like $50/month for the faster speed, mainly for the purpose of fast xbox live gaming.

Edit: Forgot to mention that I had SBC/ATT prior to switching to TW and was never very satisfied with it. The speed was never what it should have been and we were not that far from the base.

I have had at&t since it was pacbell, then sbc, then at&t. I have NEVER had any problems with it, and the few times I had outages (years ago) I was still able to dial in with a modem to see what was going on.

I left Pac Bell a few years ago and went to Charter in an attempt to save money by getting rid of my home phone. I had charter for about 10 months, and techs came to my home at least 6 times to try to fix my line that always seemed to be down. I finally got fed up and went back to Pac Bell, which has worked great .

I get upwards of 10MBps at work!
at the draft party a couple of years ago, and under a considerable haze, i heard Birdman yell out the following (about 4 or 5 times, i think) - "don't marry yourselves to players!" he went on to reiterate that idea more than once on the boards, and i believe it to be absolutely sage.

I was Verizon DSL (3 Mbps) for 2 years and was satisfied, but I dumped my landline for cell-only phone, and they claimed ignorance when I brought up the subject of "naked DSL" ....

.... so I went with TW Cable (1.5 Mbps @ $25/mo for 1st year) and have been just as happy (one 3 hour outage since I got it last April).
