You can give HTML5 a try: YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.
You know I think it's more than just Youtube, I think my computer is sick. I even googled something today, Fedex Kinkos and I had to go back three time to get to where I wanted to go. The first two times I clicked the link, I was directed to Citysearch, whatever that is. I think I mentioned that I went without virus protection for about eight months, I assumed that my protection would be able to catch whatever I have, my sysytem is really bogging down. I'm seriously thinking of dropping all of my important things onto an external hard drive and restoring my computer but I've never done that and am a little worried about doing it.
Have you tried Malwarebytes?
I've had success with that, and recently I also downloaded Norton AV and it helped too. Both prevented me from having to do the full backup/system restore thing. My computer apparently was sending out who-knows-how-many Viagra spam messages for a while, in addition to links redirecting to random websites, programs not loading when I try to open them, etc...
Reboot your computer.
While the computer is booting before it goes into Windows, keep pressing the F8 key.
It should bring up a menu, choose Safe Mode iwth Networking Support
Once in Windows, open up your internet browser, go to Free software downloads and software reviews - CNET Download.com and search for malwarebytes antimalware and superantispyware. Install them, run the updates, and do a full scan. Once done, reboot your computer and it should be ok.
I got up this morning before work and took watti's advice and ran a quick check with Malwarebytes. It picked up three items only. But went to the sites where I would usually try to log in and get redirected and had no problems, Thanks Watti.
I got home from work earlier today and read Creeping Deaths post and followed his advice as well. I did a full scan with Malware and it found no items. I downloaded Superanti Spyware and ran a full scan. It found 1 Trojan agent/Gen fake alert, 27 Advance flash tracking cookies and 441 advance tracking cookies. That sounds like a lot! Now we'll see what happens.
could be the web browser. I had a similar problem with windows IE then i downloaded Google Chrome and it's all good now.
All seems to be good in the world again. Not having a problem with being redirected anymore, videos take a little longer to load but no where near the nightmare it was before. Interesting about the browser. I just restored my sons Dell laptop to factory setttins and was amazed how well it works now. But I'm thinking of going from IE to Firefox or Google Chrome to give em a test drive for my desktop.
I'd strongly recommend you re-install Windows. Your system sounds like it is/was infested big time...and you just can't be certain that every malware has been removed. If a malware-mothership is hiding on your system, these suckers will return on a daily basis.
