Tuesday, 10:15pm, Olympic rink.
Same group of about 25 guys, anywhere from 15-20 usually show up. I guess it qualifies as pickup, we're not all that good, probably D3 or whatever the lowest league is. Not super serious & competitive, have a good time.
We have one dedicated goalie who shows up here and there, 3 guys who will either skate or play in goal depending on who shows up.
It's $25 a piece for 10:15pm-11:30pm. It's definitely high and the owner of the rink wont budge. We do $25 because we never know how many people will show up a week, so the extra couple bucks is to cover for weeks where we're short.
Watti, if you can play in net, we can have 2 of our multi-purpose goalie/skater guys skate and one play net.
iv played there once when i had a work trip in santa clarita
Also, I'm #25. On the white team 99% of the time, I think I played on the black team once, ever.
Stop by and watch this coming tuesday, have a laugh.
I played High school hockey there, and used to play out of there for the california heat AAA.
I have been outta playing because of college, but im there from time to time for pickup and sticktime's.
Anyone ever needs a spare player for the ice station, PM me.
Im a natural Wing, but in the high school league I played D, and even center come games.
I grew up in Valencia so I worked and played there for years. Nice rink, just a bit pricey.
Yeah its really pricey, especially when I hear of people at other rinks paying like $200/season to play in the leagues. I dropped $650. I figure though that what I'm saving in gas (VIS is like 3 mi from my pad), balances it out a bit, and the last thing I want to do after a game is drive 35-40 minutes, but its still really expensive. Trade offs I guess. The fact of the matter is that hockey just isn't cheap to begin with.
