Thread: Is anybody putting an ice game together for Frozen Fury?

I will say I tried last year, its a cluster ****. Evey year around that time the rinks have a tourny in town and no ice times are open for use to buy. I spent alot of time as did a few other members. Just get drunk cheer on our guys.

got it... i'll be in that tourney... you guys can get drunk and cheer me on.

I contacted the Las Vegas Ice Center to show us possibly being interested in renting the rink for an hour or two. I received an e-mail this morning from the General Manager there...

Hi Joshua,

Thank you for your interests in our facility. I’m guessing you will be in town for the Frozen Fury game.
We do have a large adult tournament in here that weekend as many teams want to play hockey and then watch the game as well.
The tournament usually begins around 9:00am each morning so any private rental would have to take place earlier than their start time.
How many people would be participating? I want to make this work for you.
Let me know and I’ll put something together.

This might be a bit too early for a lot of us seeing how we will be in Vegas doing what people in Vegas do. So, if you guys are interested, show it on this thread and we will see what happens. If anybody wants to take the lead on this and keep in contact with Las Vegas Ice Center, go ahead. PM me and I can give you the General Managers information; I didn't want to post his name and personal contact information. If not, I might be able to do it if enough people are interested and we can get all of the money collected well before the weekend of.


...by the way, I also contacted The Orleans Arena (where the Las Vegas Wranglers play) even though it is their arena, the Wranglers basically have the say so and they don't rent out the ice. I guess they haven't laid the ice down yet either. I contacted the MGM Grand Garden Arena as well to see if it was at all possible to get a skate in on that ice but I never heard back.

Every year someone tries to get a pickup game together the weekend of Frozen Fury.

Every year they realize that everyone is going to be too bloody drunk to show up, and troo few people are willing to try.

Just called Sobe Arena and....
Assuming most people will be arriving in LV Friday and leaving Sunday it's
$250 -$275 an hour, but the spots available are after 11pm on Friday the 30th and before 7am on Saturday the 1st.
